According to the Software Engineering Institute, a "Software Process Improvement Network is [a group] comprised of individuals who want to improve software engineering practice.  The individuals are organized into regional groups called "SPINs" that meet and share their experiences initiating and sustaining software process improvement programs."

The Tampa Bay SPIN (Software Process Improvement Network) was founded in June, 2000 when 15 people from 8 organizations got together to start a grassroots effort to bring process improvement professionals together to meet and learn.

The Tampa Bay SPIN is governed by a Steering Committee that meets monthly to organize and plan SPIN meetings and other activities for the group.

Our Mission: To bring Tampa Bay IT organizations together to promote process improvement awareness, application and benefits through the sharing of knowledge and best practices.
